This morning...

This morning at 7 a.m., sunlight streamed through the changing trees...

My roommate D and I armed ourselves with steaming cups of coffee...

We walked down the street to this location...

We ran into friends as we stood for an hour and forty minutes in this line:

To do this...

Afterwards, we contemplated what this day could mean...

For every child who has ever felt that there were limits on what he or she could accomplish...

I love the photo essay. We were luckier - only had to wait 20 minutes - but when we left, the line was out the door.

I'd like to say that regardless of the outcome, this election has engaged more of the electorate than it has in a long time - but I can't say "regardless of the outcome)!

Love your photo essay. I agree that now knowing the outcome there will be more than change in government but the country as a whole. My Grandmother come over from England in 1914 so one half of me is 2nd generation. Since those days the shade of our America has changed and I love hearing kids looking at their future as a "Yes, I can". you can read my 11/4 post here http://tinyurl.com/5zk4ua
ps. after being born in NYC hospital the first place I lived was Brooklyn. Of course, I don't remember!
